The GSSPA helps sponsor two scholarships -- the Bernard Kilgore Memorial Scholarship, and the Bob Stevens Memorial Scholarship.

The winner of the Bernard Kilgore Scholarship also becomes the NJ Student Journalist of the Year, and is entered into the JEA National Student Journalist of the Year competition.

Only advisers who are members of the GSSPA may have their students enter the competition.

Each student may only apply for one scholarship, and only one entrant per scholarship is allowed from each school.
